Horticultural Heroes

The RHS has introduced an initiative to celebrate globally respected figures in the horticultural world. Its first 'horticultural hero' will be Piet Oudolf who will be creating a special garden feature at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show. Meadow planting always springs to mind when you hear his name (the photo is from his acclaimed garden at Hauser and Wirth in Bruton, Somerset), and his walk-through wild meadow garden for Hampton Court will use grasses and perennials for mid-summer colour such as Alliums, Echinacea and Nicotiana.

The exciting thing for me is that I am part of the team that will be planting up the garden ahead of the show. I'll be writing about my experiences so watch this space!
